Post-SBMHW Orientation Assessment

During my onboarding and orientation, I have developed understanding of the following topics in relation to SBMHW:

General Program Knowledge

Clinician IIs should have gathered the vision, mission, and values of the School-based Mental Health & Wellness (SBMHW) program, emphasizing the significance of adult protective relationships and their role in fostering such relationships.

Program Support

Clinician IIs should understand how their strengths and skills contribute to serving the school site, and have gained confidence in reviewing and explaining the registration protocols and processes to clients and families.

Personal Care

Clinician IIs should gather tools on how to care for their own mental health and wellness to sustain their effectiveness in their roles. They should also gain the ability to articulate their personal motivation ("my why") for engaging in this work, enhancing their sense of purpose and commitment.

Commitment to Ongoing Learning

Clinician IIs will understand that the topics covered in orientation are essential for their success in their roles and will recognize the importance of identifying and strengthening any areas of weakness with their supervisor and team members to ensure effective performance.

Clinical Oversight and Support

Learn about the Clinician II responsibilities in providing oversight for Licensed Clinicians and Associate Clinicians seeking licensure through the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS). Regular participation in individual/group supervision for Associate Clinicians provides a supportive environment for discussing cases, sharing insights, and receiving feedback. Consistent participation in monthly Consultation groups ensures that licensed clinicians continue to refine their skills, stay updated on best practices, and receive support for complex cases.
