Clinician II, Mental Health and Wellness
Biography
Jennifer Perez serves as a Clinician II on the School-Based Mental Health and Wellness Team. Jennifer began her career providing care to clients in the Inpatient Hospital setting serving adults and adolescents with acute behavioral health disorders. Soon thereafter, transitioned to a community-based organization and provided clinical services to clients from young ages to seniors. Jennifer also supported in facilitating parenting classes/support groups to community partners and various school sites. Jennifer found her home in School-Based Mental Health services and began her career with SCOE as a Clinician serving students and families. Her time as a Clinician and her experiences led Jennifer to transition to her current position of Clinician II, where she can support and nurture emerging psychotherapists. Furthermore, Jennifer can provide training, support, and guidance to the School-Based Mental Health and Wellness team.Jennifer has dedicated her time in the clinical field to work with underrepresented communities of color by providing client-centered support and serve as an advocate in the field.
Jennifer is a bilingual, first-generation Latina born and raised in Monterey County. Jennifer is a first-generation college graduate, and a proud daughter of immigrants. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development from California State University, Sacramento, and a Master of Social Work from University of Southern California. Jennifer is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Jennifer lives in Sacramento alongside her husband, two adventurous and loving toddlers, and two dogs Enzo and Simba. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys hiking, spending time with loved ones, and creating new memories with her family and friends.
